OUR HISTORY

Since 1925, BETA SA has been a symbol of innovation in heavy industrial manufacturing. From railway workshops to global pressure equipment solutions, our legacy continues.
1925 – Foundation in Buzău, Romania
BETA SA started as a Railway Maintenance Workshop with 19 employees, laying the groundwork for nearly a century of industrial engineering expertise.
1940 – Strategic Role in Wartime Industry
Company restructured as Romanian Railway Special Workshops, serving critical logistics and infrastructure needs during WWII.
1945 – Expansion as Special Workshops
Post-war reorganization leads to growth in mechanical repairs and fabrication services, supporting Romania’s national industrial recovery.
1950s–60s: Industrial Growth Under State Enterprise
1951 – Railway Equipment Enterprise
Rapid growth under nationalized industry policy; over 900 employees focused on railway and mechanical fabrication for Romania’s expanding infrastructure.
1961 – Renamed as Mechanical Enterprise Buzău
Expanded production to cover heavy mechanical components, pressure assemblies and fabrication systems, serving multiple industrial sectors.
1973 – Expansion into Technological Equipment
Transitioned into mechanical manufacturing, producing equipment for chemical, petrochemical, food, and metallurgical sectors. This marked the company’s entry into process industry markets.
1975 – National Leader in Export Equipment
With over 7,000 employees, BETA became Romania’s largest manufacturer of process and pressure equipment for export markets.
